The staff of Early Learning are highly trained and very dedicated child care workers who help each child pursue their interests and develop their unique talents. Our teachers are highly qualified and often spend several years at Early Learning, so you'll always see a familiar face. The director has owned and operated Early Learning since 1976 and is a highly respected child care leader in the area.

Professional Organizations/Activities
- Member of National Association for the Education of Young Children since 1972 and East Central Illinois Association for the Education of Young Children. Served in these offices: Advocacy Chairperson, Liaison to the Director's Group, Publicity Chairperson, and Accreditation Publicity Chairperson.
- Charter member of the Champaign County Child Care Association, in 1976, and served as its leader for five years and as president for one year.
- Participated in the revision of licensing standards for licensed day care centers, Services to Children Committee, Infant Day Care Sub-committee. In 1988 served on a committee to write standards for group day care homes.
- Presented workshops and classes on infant-toddler curricula, on quality and compensation, on accreditation, and on integration of children with special needs.
- In 1986-87, guided the staff in becoming the first center in C-U to be accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs. Validator for Accreditation for other programs.
- Member of Citizen Advisory Committee on Day Care to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services 1988-1994.
- Member of Child Care and Development Block Grant Task Force 1994. Mentoring committee 1995. Training committee 1994-95.
- Member of Advisory Board, Child Care Resource Service 1985 to present.
- Awarded "Woman of the Year" 1990 by Twin Cities Business and Professional Women.
- Friend of Children Award, nominated by Early Learning teachers, East Central Illinois Association for the Education of Young Children, 1998.
- Mentor to other Illinois directors, Taking Charge of Change Institute, National-Louis University, 1994 to present.
- Mentor for Statewide Accreditation Mentoring Project, 2002 to 2006.
